2 Nephi 30: 1-5

more righteous than Gentiles..........................................smugness of Israel over Gentile behavior
utterly.......................................................................detruction prophesied.  However same applies to House of Israel
Gentiles repent..........................................................promise of salvation
carry forth..................................................................Book of Mormon will save many Gentiles
remnant.......................................................................means by which the children will learn

Gentiles are in a peculiar position concerning the success of bringing forth the Kingdom of God.  It will be a mixed blessing and curse, because the Gentiles will work actively in the establishment of the latter-day kingdom, but the behavior of many in their society will require considerable changes and much repentance in order to come into compliance with the Lord's covenant.

2 Nephi 30: 6-12

scale of darkness.................................................for Israel, much of the truth will have disappeared
begin to gather.....................................................as knowledge returns many repent
all people..............................................................the latter-day kingdom goes to ALL groups
Lord to judge......................................................will upset systems that oppress righteous
great division.......................................................the gospel will cause people to make choices
righteousness and faithfulness.......................................accept truth and live it.
wolf/lamb imagery.......................................................means by which peace and harmony come

A gradual gathering of the righteous begins, and once firmly established, a great division of the good and evil to occur among the people of the earth

2 Nephi 30: 13-18

things made known...............................................many underlying facts made apparaent
nothing secret.......................................................will not be able to stop of conceal truth
evil revealed........................................................Satan's workings will be in full view of people

When the Lord's time arrives, great revelations will become widespread. (Internet) When this occurs, people will have a much easier way to make choices either to accept His word, or to reject it all.

2 Nephi 30

This message to the House of Israel lets would-be righteous people know that mere membership
in the kingdom does not guarantee salvation.  It depends on making the voluntary choice to accept his law and keep the covenant (both), or to fall short.
