It will be a mixed blessing and curse, because the Gentiles will work actively in the establishment of the latter-day kingdom, but the behavior of many in their society will require considerable changes and much repentance in order to come into compliance with the Lord's covenant.

In the last days, an examination of the conditions of the leadership of many Christian faiths will reveal a tremendous amount of denial about the truths taught by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost. The result is a doctrine that does not allow men to receive direct revelation from the Lord.

Revelation about the sects of Christianity that claim divine acceptance has an underlying sin. Such groups are founded and run by the proud, and they do not represent the Will of God. These people who join and make up these evil systems will have an opportunity to repent and turn to God. He will flatter, trick, pacify, and ensnare them. If they fail to change when taught by God, they will be judged by the Lord.

This chapter was written for men in the last days. It is descriptive of the conditions of the larger Christian world and reveals to those who will look, that many of the teachings of the pastors and teachers are worldly and have no scriptural backing. They actually limit people and place them under the influence of the devil. The one thing to focus on most of all is personal revelation of the Lord through the Holy Ghost. If men will trust that one thing alone, the Lord will lead them to do what he wants, cutting through the obstacles that men place in the spiritual paths. Ultimately, all men are responsible to repent, so any teaching that diverges from that principle will amount to denying the Holy Ghost.

If one tries to find logic in the behaviors of nations of the Gentiles, one will be hard pressed. The wickedness and evil that underlies the nations' acts will seem totally absurd, like a drunken man. Those things that are against the righteous desires of the Lord will be destroyed, even if it means the loss of whole nations.

Due to the over-reliance of men to ideas in the European cultures, the Lord intends to establish the Book of Mormon, and His gospel, in a much more spiritual manner. Those who would tamper with His methods will be exposed as aiding to establish and promote evil and wicked systems; whereas, His methods will be divine and remain protected for the purpose of publishing to the world, and more importantly, to save people.

The Lord's church will be established in America, and it will be spread to the whole world, but the world will largely belong to Satan's system. He indicates that the vision is the beginning of John's vision, but that the vision of John is not recorded for the Nephites, but rather for the Gentiles. The word will go forth to the Gentiles through the Bible, and important, divine book, but the evil Church will have removed and altered the points of the gospel.

The Lord's church will be established in America, and it will be spread to the whole world, but the world will largely belong to Satan's system. The evil system will go to war with the Saints, but the Lord will protect the Saints. Eventually the evil will destroy themselves, but the Lord will protect his children.

Jesus to the Jews..........................................prophecy of where Jesus would live
crucify him....................................................long before he was born, his type of death foretold

scattered.....................................................after the crucifixion, the fallen people forced to move
Jacob teaches his people about the first coming of Christ, how he would be born in the ancestral home for the people of Israel. His crucifixion will lead to a scattering of the people who rejected him, because of their many sins.

In the future, God will keep all his promises, including the one that he will cleanse the American continent of the secret combination that will lead to much of the corruptions and abominations that will arise.

beheld many nations....................................Nephi's dream jumps into the latter-days
nations and kingdoms...................................an assortment of different political entities exist, kings and nations
of the Gentiles....................................the vision focuses first on the European-style nations
formation of a great church..............................the great core of the group is a strong underlying "church"
church.....................................................a loose and unflattering description of the latter-day core of the gentile nations
most abominable.....................................in the core of this gentile world is an incredibly wicked control
slayeth the Saints............................................the people of this group want to destroy all truth of the gospel
tortureth....................................................these do more than just oppose, they actively pursue and antagonize
yoketh and bring down...................................these make conditions so that the righteous cannot assume any form of government, they oppress and intimidate
devil founder...................................................quite honestly, it is the church of Satan
praise of the world.............................................their ideology promotes the worldly, not the sacred
At the opening of the latter-day times, the Gentiles ascend to world dominance. Among them will by an assortment of different kinds of kingdoms and governances. One thing they will have in common is a strong wicked association with worldly, sinful world control. The ideologies will be worldly and will be very oppressive to those who wish to follow Christ.

many waters..................................................the gentiles move away from Europe, Atlantic Ocean
wrath on the seed.......................................the Lord will prepare those in the New World for the connection to these gentiles as they colonize and spread
man among................................................the Lord will work with one man among the Gentiles
will guide this man..........................................the man, Columbus, will be the figure to connect the Gentiles with the Americans.
wrought upon others.........................................following Columbus, many others will be moved upon to move
out of captivity..............................................a large number of these will be seeking freedom from the bad church
multitudes and scattering....................................the arriving Gentiles will set up and grow, they will plague the natives of the land
Spirit of the Lord................................................the Lord will work with these refugee gentiles. He will help them

The Lord will lead a large number of freedom-seeking Gentiles to come to the Americas. They will be serious, truth-seeking people who will be blessed by the Spirit. They will be a serious threat to the natives left from the family of Lehi

The Lord will lead Gentiles to relocate to the Americas where he will strengthen them, free them, and then allow them to reestablish his church on the earth, as a counter force to take on the great and abominable church of the Gentiles. This church of the gentiles is a term used loosely to describe the inner and evil core of the gentile world that seeks its own selfish interest and is based on worldly and wicked pursuits.
